
Treat for book lovers despite ticketing hassles
Capital’s annual book fair is getting bigger and better with each passing year.
The fair does not have its own website- it is displayed within the National Book Trust site https://www.nbtindia.gov.in/ndwbf2025/
To buy a ticket online – download the DMRC app – even that shows ‘sold out’ status for adults. Momentum2.0 Delhi Sarthi Momentum2.0 ios. Ticket counters are supposedly open at some metro station though the Burst abdomen team did not get a chance to verify this.
Visitors parking in the basement and entering through Plaza 1 face additional hassles.. All that is there is a board displaying a QR code. It’s as if the app is the only way for getting an entry. On gentle enquiry the guard tells people to walk to Supreme Court Metro Station to buy paper tickets- that’s like a kilometer away!

Large publishing houses were overflowing, regional language stalls in Hall 2 were relatively sparse.

Russia, France, Spain, USA, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, Nepal, Srilanka, Bangladesh have stalls as do most Indian states.

Ektara Publications is located in row N with the artistes and authors of their well illustrated books and magazines. The publication has established a niche in the world of children’s publications. The likes of Orijit Sen are members of their editorial team.

What is fair without a selfie point? #NDWBF lives up to that reputation with multiple selfie points and eager visitors making full use of them.

Overall, the new improved Pragati Maidan provides an ideal set for the World Book Fair. However, purchasing tickets presents hassles. This is especially true for unsuspecting visitors who park in the basement and feel smug about securing a parking spot.
