The 9th edition of Kolkata Liver Meeting lived up to its reputation as the leading platform for discussing liver disease.
The biennial event organized under the aegis of Liver Foundation West Bengal https://www.liverfoundation.in/ has already carved a space in academia as a space for ‘no-nonsense’ discussion on all things liver.
Indeed, among all the attendees, more than hundred were Phd scholars and post graduate and post doctoral medical students. This number has risen steadily over the years- reflecting the status of https://www.kolkatalivermeeting.com/ as a rare space where clinical and basic researchers meet over translational science.
The centerpiece of Kolkata Liver Meeting has always been the award paper session. Six papers were selected for the final session out of 36 submissions. Sujay Krishna Maity of IICB https://iicb.res.in/ was awarded the first position for his presentation on ‘liver regeneration’.
The event began with the inauguration of John C Martin Center for Liver Research and Innovations. This took place at the Indian Institute of Liver & Digestive Sciences in Sonarpur. https://iilds.in/
